When Calls the Heart review

(Disclosure:  I received the mentioned movie in order to facilitate my review.  All opinions shared are my own.)

I got the opportunity to watch another family friendly, good valued movie.  When Calls the Heart is a heart-warming movie.  The storyline is easy to follow as a young woman desires to be a teacher, but has to overcome her family doubting that she can make it on her own.  Determined to prove them wrong she movies into an abandoned house by herself and learns a lot about herself.  While she is doing that she reads a diary from her aunt that her sister found.  She finds out that her aunt was a teacher as well and in this movie we see her story played out.  She then decides that she will move forward in becoming a teacher and is escorted to her school by a mountie.  This movie, written well by Janette Oke, is a great one to add to your home library.  This movie is safe to watch with the little ones playing nearby.  I don't think it'll hold their attention to actually sit and watch it but you don't have to worry about inappropriate parts.

About the Movie:
Nashville, Tennessee-When Calls the Heart, directed by Michael Landon Jr. and based on the best-selling books by Janette Oke, tells the story of a young high society teacher receiving her first classroom post in a prairie town in the Western Frontier.  Determined to prove to her family that she is brave enough to live on her own, Elizabeth (Poppy Drayton) struggles with her own fears and doubts until she discovers her late Aunt's diary.  Her aunt (Maggie Grace), also named Elizabeth, had set off on a similar adventure as a teacher into the frontier, where she struggles with prairie life and eventually met and fell in love with a Royal Canadian Mountie (Stephen Amell).  Reading her aunt's words, the young Elizabeth decided to put her future in God's hand and embark on her own adventure where she uses the diary as her guide as well as Edward, another Mountie (Daniel Sharman), sworn to see her arrive.

When Calls the Heart will become a TV Series and will be shown on the Hallmark Channel.  You can get updates on how that is going on their Facebook page.
