I think teaching our children to be men of God is an important task that God has given me and my husband. This is a job we take seriously. I spend a lot of time looking for resources to help us in this parenting journey. I have found another great resource that I would love to share with yall. The Virtue Training Bible. This is an awesome kit. I love all the virtues that it highlights and it makes for easy reference if I need to have my children read something. It is easy for even the youngest reader to follow with little help.
Assembling this bible was easy to do but was time consuming. I think it is worth it though. I broke it up into 3 days. One day to do the top verses, one day to do the side and one day to do the bottom. It recommends highlighters but I have found that colored pencils work just as great. Also, I lucked out and found some great tabs at the dollar store to use. Lining up the tabs takes a bit of work. I had to undo a few and reapply them so they were in a straight line.
I got to read quite a bit of the bible just by doing this myself. So not only is this something that is great for the kids, but it is great for parents as well. We right now are having some issues with being respectful and obedient so this is a great tool to have the children read what God says about those virtues.
