(Disclosure: I received the movie mentioned below in order to facilitate my review. All opinions shared are my own.)
I have always loved listening to Rich Mullins' music. His songs are so powerful. One of the songs that I love the most is "Awesome God". That song is an amazing worship songs that could bring goosebumps to anyone with a desire for God! So, when I was given the opportunity to watch and review this movie I had to try to be on the list. When I received the email saying I was in, I literally said Yay! Ragamuffin is a movie that was done well about his life. His struggles in life showed that even though he was a famous singer, he was human and had issues too. I know I was sad when I heard about him passing away and I am glad that they did this movie about him.
About the movie:
Ragamuffin is based on the life of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to Christian music fame and fortune only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. An artistic genius, raised on a tree farm in Indiana by a callous father, Rich wrestled all of his life with the brokenness and crippling insecurity born of his childhood. A lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church Rich refused to let his struggles with his own darkness tear him away from a God he was determined to love. As he stubbled with success in Nashville and depression in Wichita, Rich desired most of all to live a life of honest and reckless faith amidst a culture of religion and conformity.
