Another great children's book. Can't-Wait Willow by Christy Ziglar is a cute book about a little girl on the way to the circus who can't say no to anything on her way and when she gets there she realizes that she can't enjoy the circus because she couldn't wait. I think this is a great book to use to teach children about patience. It can teach children that you don't always have to have what is in front of you, but you can wait and get something that is bigger and better for you. My kids liked this book. They enjoyed looking for the star on every page as it followed Willow to the circus. I think that it helped them to pay attention more as I was reading it and now they make a game out of finding it first. It is a book that my older son has read to his younger brothers. It is a great addition to our book shelf at home. The Dear Grownups part in the beginning of the book has some really great advice for reading this book with your children to help it really stick with them.

Willow
is so excited that the Over-the-Top Circus has finally come to town!
The only problem is, that when left to her own devices, she can’t say
“no” to some good things. On the way to the show, she is distracted by
enticing treats and fun that she just can’t turn down. Willow arrives
late and is sad to find that, not only has she has run out of time, but
money, and she won’t be able to enjoy the pink cotton candy she’s been
dreaming of. Willow is given valuable advice and a second chance and is
ultimately taught the lesson that sometimes in life you have to say “no”
to good things to end up with something great!

to her first grade teacher, who recognized her superior skills in
drawing a robin, Luanne Marten has been drawing, painting and sketching
ever since. She is a great experimenter and has a fresh, whimsical
approach to bring her characters to life.
